Mixed Media

Mixed Media Canvas with Scrapbooking Techniques

Create two unique pieces of wall art on flat canvas boards, 30 x 42 cm, using various mixed media and scrapbooking techniques. Techniques include: ink application, texture paste with masks, and gel medium transfers.  The first canvas will be based on the pictured sample with the freedom to have different pictures, words and colour variations, and copies of personal photos are able to be used.  The second canvas will provide opportunity to utilise the skills and techniques that have been learned from the first project. Guidance and instruction for masculine style projects will be available.

Joan is a part time teacher at Toowoomba’s Scrap N Patch and has been paper crafting since she was little. Not the typical scrapbooker, Joan prefers mixed media, and cannot seem to create anything without using some form of inking technique. Steampunk, vintage and royal colours all describe Joan’s developing style. You can see some of her work on her blog Ebony Grace Designs.
